National Voters’ Day Celebration
Theme: “My India, My Vote”

Government Polytechnic Doyang, Wokha celebrated National Voters’ Day on 23rd January 2026 with the theme “My India, My Vote”, aiming to create awareness among students about the importance of voting and to encourage active and responsible participation in the democratic process.
The programme commenced with an address highlighting the significance of National Voters’ Day and the relevance of the theme. Students were sensitized about their constitutional rights, duties, and the crucial role of youth in strengthening the democratic framework of the nation.
As part of the observance, an Essay Competition was organized for the students. The competition provided an opportunity for participants to express their views on democracy, electoral participation, and the importance of every vote in shaping the future of the country. Students actively participated and demonstrated a good understanding of democratic values.
A Pledge Taking Ceremony was also conducted, during which students took a pledge to uphold democratic principles, register as voters, participate ethically in elections, and motivate others to exercise their right to vote.
In addition, other related awareness activities were carried out to educate students on voter registration, ethical voting practices, and the significance of informed decision-making in elections.
The celebration of National Voters’ Day at Government Polytechnic Doyang, Wokha was successful and impactful, instilling a sense of civic responsibility and reinforcing the message of the theme “My India, My Vote” among the students.
